I love this easy chart to not only highlight important foods and their medicinal properties for our bodies but also to highlight the principle in natural medicine (naturopathy) called Form and Function…notice how each of these foods fit like a key and lock with the body’s important organ functions?

Food is medicine, and when we eat whole, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes such as those pictured in this chart, our body knows exactly what to do with it; it is a language of sorts between our body and the food that creates energy, function, regeneration and proper “coding” for our organs! Not to mention they are all pretty tasty and have a wide variety of smells, textures, tastes and colors to appeal to our sensory organs. I like to try and include each of these foods into my weekly nutritional regime for a nutrient-dense menu!
