Looking to support our body for healing is one of our most important jobs; our body KNOWS how to do this, but often WE get in our own way! The body is an amazing vessel of “stuff” (that’s an understatement) so keeping the path clear is something we can do with help, guidance, and education! I just finished putting together a recommendation plan for a client, and I am so excited for them to get started! I know the benefits they will experience physically, mentally, and emotionally; what a great gift they are giving their body! Now its time to work with my herbs. I am preparing a lavender topical oil infusion. Lavender has a wonderfully calming scent and relaxes the nervous system, but it also is great to use on skin that has been overexposed to the sun, burns or rashes, and even bug bites due to its antiseptic and anti inflammatory properties!

It has nourishing properties for the skin and scalp and can help to ease headaches by stimulating circulation. I will probably have some dried flowers left, so I will use those with my facial steamer. Lavender also helps to bring about peace and contentment at bedtime, so it is often used in many vapor rubs, salves, and diffusers. I make my own vapor rub at home using this awesome oil, along with peppermint, beeswax and coconut. Its great to put under your nose at bedtime, to rub on stressed sore areas of the body, or to simply take a few, deep inhalations throughout the day to calm and cleanse! With headaches, you can simply rub on the forehead, temples and neck.
